Age Innovate Pitch Competition

Age Innovate Pitch Competition:

Shaping AgeTech in Tennessee

Join us in early April 2025, for a reprise of last year’s pitch competition that focuses on the future of AgeTech in Tennessee and beyond: the Age Innovate Pitch Event. In collaboration with Aging 2.0 and FortyAU, Community Equity Partners is proud to help highlight and support funding for exciting innovations in this space.

Entrepreneurs, visionaries and thought leaders from all over our state and the larger Southeast region will converge to present solutions addressing the unique challenges and tech opportunities that benefit the aging population. With a growing 60+ population that is used to being served the best in technology and care, now is the time for major innovations in this space. Create meaningful connections and forge partnerships that will help you get fully involved in what’s coming up in age-tech.

Last year was our premier year and we’re looking forward to expanding and enhancing the experience for attendees and presenting a really fantastic range of companies and keynote speakers. Expect to hear from those within the gerontology industry about the specific challenges and needs facing this population, and the opportunities fast arising. Explore fantastic and exciting new ideas through our pitch competition of fully vetted, participating companies, and reward great ideas with a provided investment from Community Equity Partners.

Last Year’s Winner: Wave Therapeutics

Wave Therapeutics is a healthcare startup with a focus on ending one of the most prevalent and problematic issues in long term care: pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores. Their patent-pending technology is aimed to benefit the aging population as well as the physically disabled, with a special focus on veterans. Beginning with a wheelchair cushion and eventually aiming to branch into other forms of support, Wave’s mission to eliminate pressure hot spots and improve blood flow and circulation for long periods of immobility has the potential to make big impact in many market segments. It’s been a big year in 2024 for last year’s winner, Wave Therapeutics! After the event, they pursued an in-house tissue oxygenation study on their Surf wheelchair cushion. As expected, the unique methods Wave employs to promote movement and circulation are blowing other methods out of the water, and an upcoming full scale, clinical study in collaboration with the British National Health Service is slated to begin soon.
